21st of December – There’s some Jupiter/Saturn is in the Air
Many Astrologer’s have been talking about this upcoming Jupiter/Saturn Conjunction on the 21st of December. I will try not to repeat all too much of what you may have heard already numerous times.
This cycle repeats itself roughly every 20 years and yes, this conjunction does represent a whole new 200 year cycle of Jupiter/Saturn Conjunctions in the air signs (the last 200 years we’ve had them in earth sings). And although this conjunction happens of 0° of Aquarius, this planetary conjunction should not be mistaken for the astrological concept of the “Age of Aquarius” that is related to the precessional rotation of the Earth. But these technical details are for another post.
Back to the planetary alignment of Jupiter and Saturn as seen from earth: The past conjunctions focused on the expansion of materialism, creating rigid yet dependable structures, wealth-accumulation, ownership and provided many of us with physical, tangible security.
And as the start of this new cycle will lead us into into the quality of Air, Astrologers rightly predict a complete change of energetic tack.
Jupiter/Saturn in Air signs focus on social affairs.
Digital communication completely replaces print media, an ever-growing exchange of knowledge and ideas as well as the construction of new social value systems will take precedent. The forte of the air element is its adaptability and fluidity; its inherent nature to connect, to socialize and the move unhindered.
A challenge for the earthly inclined may be that the traditional values of private wealth may become less accessible in the future. The individual may loose it’s front seat to the collective as the old, our relationship towards mother-nature will be redefined/remodeled through a set of new technologies. These technologies will likely outdate the old industries.
In the short term, the focus is the first cycle starting on the 21st of December 2020 until the next conjunction in 2040. What can we expect? What will be the the undertone, the setting, the basis of inception? To answer this, I will look at the major constellations of this conjunction, as well as the underlying the energy that complements this cycle.
Bumpy beginnings:
0° of Aquarius is not exactly an easy, peaceful place to start from.
As a critical degree of an fixed sign, it may initially show us a darker/forceful side of what Aquarius has to offer.
Contrary to common belief, the sign of the Water-bearer isn’t just all about a peace loving hippie- society’s rebellious buffoon; on the dark side are lurking fixed and even borderline fanatical ideas.
Aquarians are the odd one out and we find rebels, reformists as well as cult leaders within this sign.
During this conjunction, the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn make a challenging square to the wounded individual of Chiron in Aries. Pluto -still slowly creeping forwards in old patriarchal Capricorn – makes an exact square to fiery Mars/Eris who are also both in Aries.
On a Marco Level, this new cycle is imbued with a challenged individual who strives for individual freedom, self-expression, autonomy (Aries) and a creative, imposing energy from authoritarian structures (Capricorn).
But there is also an opportunity for individual healing as Venus trines wounded Chiron in Aries. This benevolent angle certainly has the potential creating new hope once the dust has settled.
Finding our individual, self-expressive nature will be
